Girls Day 2012

Graining, drilling, turning and milling are no more foreign words to the participants of this year's Girls' Day. After a tour and a first insight into the activities of an industrial mechanic, the students were allowed to lend a hand at once. With the support of our trainees each of them made her own mill game for travel out of steel and brass.

Not only watching, but experiencing the profession first hand makes the Girls' Day a unique experience for girls and young women who thereby get the opportunity to become acquainted with technical jobs at an early stage in order to consider them at the later career choice.

The next Girls' Day will take place on Thursday, 25th of April 2013 for girls in grades 5-12. If you are interested, please feel free to register via our contact form.

The Willy Kreutz Company presents themselves at the FH|W-S

„Wow! Amazing how much you do!“

Like Michael, 23, Bachelor's student in mechanical engineering at the 4th semester many students and professors who visited our presentation-stand on the company contact-fair “Praxisforum” of the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt were attired in our company.

With own construction department, mechanical engineering and tool construction, automation as well as metal and plastic processing we could assure the students of our complexity.

The “Praxisforum” of the FH|W-S allows an intensive dialog between companies, universities and students. Beside the possibilities of internships and theses, open questions can be clarified in direct conversation between personnel managers and students and information about the respective company and career possibilities can be given.

Flat hierarchy levels, a low fluctuation and a dynamic working sphere speak for us. You can find our current vacancies under the menu point Career.

Among these we also qualify binary students who attain by the combination of apprenticeship and study the CCI- as well as an advanced technical college degree. We are researching for our environment

As an active member of the federation of the German copper industry DKI the Willy Kreutz Company currently takes part in a research project on the subject „processing of unleaded copper alloys“.

On account of the high conductivity copper alloys are often used to produce contacts, especially for electrotechnology. To allow an economic treatment of copper materials, a low share of lead was added to make the chipping of the metal easier.

The Willy Kreutz Company would like to renounce this share of lead in the future and hence contribute to the environmental protection.

The purpose of this common research project is to determine optimum process parameters of the converting of unleaded copper alloys and by doing so to speed up the application of unleaded alloys.

Besides the DKI and Willy Kreutz also a major German metal producer and manufactures for tools & lubricants are involved in this project, as well as the chair of technology at the RWTH of Aachen.

With our technological leadership we therefore contribute to the reduction of lead-containing products and thereby protect our environment – for our customers and for you!

Quality in 3D

As a manufacturer of high quality serial parts the Willy Kreutz Company has its focus on a consistent quality management for many years. Besides the long-standing ISO 9001 certification, a continuous improvement process is in place at the specific divisions.

To further optimize the production accompanying quality assurance, particularly in our plastics manufacturing, we are now able to perform accurate 3D measurements of our products.

All results of the video and push-button measurement are displayed in three dimensions and compared with the various programs stored in the master specifications. By doing so, even slightest deviations can be detected easily and quickly. Through data export this information can immediately be transmitted to manufacturing, product development or construction department, in order to make necessary adjustments. Also, material samples or new products can thus be performed faster and with a much higher accuracy.

LED – Successful with retro-fits

Long life cycle, low power consumption, various colors, declining production costs – there are a lot of arguments for the modern LED-technology.

The disadvantage: The LED does not fit into the existing infrastructure of traditional lamps (sockets for bulbs, fluorescent tubes, etc.).

The solution for this problem is RETRO-FIT – the adaption of LED-lights to traditional socket sizes and shapes.

For that purpose the Willy Kreutz Company is working with a customer in a joint-venture for developing and processing of components for a new generation of LED-tubes, which can be inserted into conventional lamp-sockets.

Meanwhile the assembly of contact pins as well as appropriate wire bend parts has begun within pilot-run series. In parallel an assembly unit for serial production has been developed within our in-house machinery. This in order to guarantee a fast and economic assembling of contact pins into the plastic housing.

A market launch is scheduled for the end of 2011.

Correction of defective parts by assembly machine

In spite of efficient production processes defective parts which have to be blocked, sorted out or if necessary even disposed of, still emerge quite often in industrial companies. This does not only strain the cost structure of companies and by doing so effect negatively the profit situation but also our environment. From a certain quantity on the correction of these parts therefore can be profitable.

Hence the Willy Kreutz Company has developed an assembly machine for its customer, which enables to rework defective parts into finished products of a consistent good quality.

After first trials and the approval by our customer this process is successfully applied at our facility in Timisoara.

The complete logistic process, including delivery and outlet belt, packaging and taking charge of quality assurance tasks is organized by our Romanian facility, too. Until now already more than 200.000 defective parts have been reworked into finished products and conveyed into an economical utilization.

The Willy Kreutz Company is going to extend this labor-intensive service for new and existing customers.

Willy Kreutz GmbH & Co. KG builds a new storage facility in Steinfeld

With the integration of plastics production at the Steinfeld site, the need for storage space has increased enormously. For this reason, we decided to expand our commercial area with an additional storage facility. Following the planning phase, the tender procedure is now running for the individual trade services. The construction start should be in the next few weeks so that we can ensure a planned move in autumn.

With the erection of the new storage facility, storage management will be integrated into our ERP system and in doing so, the system-controlled commissioning according to the FIFO System is ensured. This innovation makes it possible to greatly reduce the lead time for commissioning and we will be in a position to react more flexibly to order changes made by our customers.
